Chapter 77(1 / 1)

Dazai Osamu nodded with certainty.

Sawada Tsunayoshi carefully closed the door and actually went downstairs.

He was still wearing the Little Bear pajamas that Oda Sakunosuke had bought with him; Nakahara Chuuya had a pair of those pajamas as well.

As he walked down, Dazai Osamu looked him up and down and raised an eyebrow; he truly lived up to the nickname he had been given; seeing him like this, he looked even more fluffy, just like a large teddy bear in a shop window.

You came down just like that?

Sawada Tsunayoshi looked at his clothes and blinked in confusion. "I dressed warmly, though."

Dazai Osamu burst out laughing all at once, as if he had heard some ridiculous statement or seen something incredibly funny, clutching his stomach and shaking atop a trash can.

The subordinates standing all around were scattered like iron pillars, not daring to move an inch; they grew even more stiff, especially upon hearing their superior's unrestrained laughter, as they tried their best to minimize their presence.

What should they do? The boss was acting crazy again.

I hope he doesn't try to play tricks this time, doesn't try to find amusement at their expense.

Dazai Osamu wiped the tears from the corners of his eyes, then jumped down to get close to Sawada Tsunayoshi, looming over him to block his line of sight. His face pressed close to Tsunayoshi's, their eyes met.

I'm saying, the nights in Yokohama can be quite dangerous; you might run into some strange adults, like a perverted lolicon, or a perverted shota-con.

Sawada Tsunayoshi asked blankly, "Then which one are you?"

Dazai Osamu threw his hands up in exasperation. "I am nothing. If anything, I hate those boring middle-aged people who are obsessed with all those strange fetishes; I really don't understand why they even bother staying alive."

Sawada Tsunayoshi breathed a sigh of relief: "That's good, then I won't worry anymore."

He had already been thinking about whether he should use his Personality Correction Punch if Dazai Osamu turned out to be a strange person.

Hearing this, Dazai Osamu was dissatisfied again. He pouted and circled around Sawada Tsunayoshi: "That shouldn't be your reaction. You should be afraid, then try to run away, then I'd chase you down and you'd beg for mercy, finally, I'd sell you out."

What a terrifying statement.

Dazai Osamu rubbed his chin suspiciously. "Your reaction is wrong."

Here we go again, more chuunibyou talk.

As long as he doesn't want to commit suicide, it's fine. Sawada Tsunayoshi took on a tone used for coaxing a child, "Alright, alright, it's my fault. It's very late now and you should go back to sleep too; be careful not to sleep too little when you're young, or you won't grow tall."

I'm going back to sleep too. Goodbye.

His arm was grabbed.

Pulled back by Dazai Osamu, Sawada Tsunayoshi looked back in confusion: "Is there something else?"

Dazai Osamu smiled faintly, his fingers tightening: "You cannot leave, because you have witnessed our organization's confidential mission. To prevent you from leaking secrets, I'm afraid I have no choice but to find a way to ensure you never speak again."

So you're still going to kill me!

Sawada Tsunayoshi cried out in panic, "Wait, I didn't hear anything!"

Dazai Osamu: "I'm not listening. Either way, you're finished."

No way, are you really that overbearing? Are you Varia?

Unless..

"Unless what!" Sawada Tsunayoshi saw a glimmer of hope and looked at Dazai Osamu expectantly.

Looking at the child's round eyes, Dazai Osamu's mood was inexplicably foul, he let out a light, clicking sound of annoyance.

I haven't decided on the conditions yet. Regardless, you owe me a favor starting from now. As for what that favor will be, we'll talk about it later. I'll come to torment you on some day when I'm in a bad mood.

Having said that, he lowered his hand, a mocking smile appearing on his face. "Go back, otherwise your little dog is going to come down and bite someone."

They didn't even have a dog at his house.

Sawada Tsunayoshi looked up and saw Nakahara Chuuya looking down with an expressionless face, his body enveloped in an ominous red and black glow.

He looks like someone you wouldn't want to mess with.

After Dazai Osamu finished speaking, he pointed his fingers at Nakahara Chuuya, squinting his eyes as he aimed and mouthed the word "bang."

Then he left with the man in black.

It was a baffling night; I couldn't understand what the other person was trying to express.

Sawada Tsunayoshi went upstairs with a heavy heart.

Nakahara Chuuya stood at the doorway watching him go upstairs. Sawada Tsunayoshi felt a flicker of guilt, but the next second, he felt there was no reason to feel guilty.

Why are you awake?

Nakahara Chuuya's eyes remained fixed on Sawada Tsunayoshi: "I saw you go downstairs. Was he bullying you?"

No, no, it's nothing, just a small problem. Come on, let's go to sleep.

Sawada Tsunayoshi pushed Nakahara Chuuya into the room; they shared a room with two beds.

As Sawada Tsunayoshi lay on the bed and closed his eyes to sleep, Nakahara Chuuya suddenly said, "Are we still going to look for work tomorrow?"

Sawada Tsunayoshi opened his eyes and suddenly sat bolt upright: "I've thought of something!"

Nakahara Chuuya was startled and sat up as well. "What is it?"

Sawada Tsunayoshi was very happy: "I've thought of what you should do."

Go to school! If a child isn't in school, what else should they be doing? Anyway, he has money, so he can hire a tutor!

Even if Nakahara Chuuya seems a bit off, he is so smart that he will surely be able to keep up with the learning process very quickly; children should be kept in school!

I won't tell you yet. Once I've finished, you'll have something to do.

Nakahara Chuuya opened his eyes: "In that case, will you be happy, will it lighten your burden?"

Of course, there's nothing better than that.

Nakahara Chuuya narrowed his eyes in satisfaction, little flowers blooming behind him: "Alright, I'll go do it."

Having resolved a major concern, Sawada Tsunayoshi was very happy. He fell into a blissful sleep, waiting for the next day to consult with the school and the Teachers.

Because of the events of the previous night, he unexpectedly woke up late the next day. As the sunlight from outside filtered through the curtains, Sawada Tsunayoshi's eyelashes fluttered.

It's so bright.

Sleeping so comfortably, without Reborn's Vongola-style wake-up call, he was truly happy.

Nuzzling the pillow affectionately, Sawada Tsunayoshi opened his eyes and met a pair of vacant eyes.

The owner of those eyes even waved at him, a low sound vibrating in his throat: "Hi."

As he spoke, his body swayed from side to side with the white cloth.

This man is hanging himself right before his eyes, hanging himself!

Sawada Tsunayoshi let out a scream and hurriedly rushed to grab Dazai Osamu's feet, trying to pull him down, but Dazai Osamu was being uncooperative and wouldn't let go of the white cloth.

The two remained at a stalemate.

Get down here, quickly!

No!

Sawada Tsunayoshi had truly never experienced such a scene; half of his soul had practically left his body. He noticed Nakahara Chuuya staring at them with wide eyes and hurriedly shouted, "Chuuya, use gravity to knock him down!"

Nakahara Chuuya obediently used his ability, but that power vanished the moment it touched Dazai Osamu. A look of shock appeared on his face: "My ability doesn't work on him."

Hearing this, Sawada Tsunayoshi immediately used his flame ability, waving his hand to sever the white ribbon and restrain Dazai Osamu's body.

Dazai Osamu grabbed Sawada Tsunayoshi's wrist with his other hand and pressed forward, a dangerous smile playing on his lips: "It didn't disappear; it wasn't an illusion."

May I ask, why is my ability ineffective against you?

Chapter 86: Day Six of the Literary Stream

Hey, tell me, why is my No Longer Human useless against you, what kind of power is this flame exactly?

The wrist being held throbbed with a faint pain; Dazai Osamu's strength was not small, moreover, his tone was dangerous, his eyes fixed intently on Sawada Tsunayoshi's face, not letting a single movement escape him.

Sawada Tsunayoshi could see the other's bottomless pupils, a sense of danger, as if being stared down by a venomous snake, shot up the back of his neck.

Danger!

I don't understand what you're talking about; I don't know anything about No Longer Human.

Sawada Tsunayoshi tugged at his wrist, breaking free from the grip.

Dazai Osamu stared blankly at his empty palm and asked sincerely, "Are you a gorilla?"

His strength wasn't exactly small either; for such a small child to break free so easily was quite embarrassing for him.

Sawada Tsunayoshi muttered, "I'm a human, a real, genuine human. Have you ever seen a gorilla grow up to look like me? That's a mutation; the plot is taking a turn toward apocalyptic creatures changing gender."

The dangerous aura around Dazai Osamu had completely vanished, he curled his lip in disdain. "I hate post-apocalyptic games; you might even turn into a monster after you die. I'd much rather stay alive than become something so hideous."

Sawada Tsunayoshi thought of the deformed creatures in post-apocalyptic movies and nodded in strong agreement: "Right? I feel the same way. I definitely don't want to turn into a monster or anything."

The two of them looked at each other and smiled, as if they had found a kindred spirit.

Sawada Tsunayoshi thought to himself happily: although this youth tried to hang himself the moment he met him, although the other was a member of the Port Mafia, although the other seemed to be in poor mental condition, but..

Get out! Why are you still acting out this drama here? Watch out, or I'll report you for trespassing!

All that talk of identity and friendly smiles was fake. Sawada Tsunayoshi jumped back a step and pointed at Dazai Osamu in accusation, "Waking up early in the morning to see you hanging right in front of me is enough to scare someone to death! How did you get in? I clearly locked the door! Explain yourself, quickly!"

Dazai Osamu, possessing absolutely no sense of trespassing, sat directly on Sawada Tsunayoshi's bed and said dejectedly, "It's simple; I picked the lock to get in."

Tsunayoshi screamed in despair, "Why do you say that like it's the most natural thing in the world!"

Because I am Port Mafia.

Does being in the Port Mafia mean you can do whatever you want? What about your sense of shame or guilt?

The Port Mafia certainly doesn't have those.

Then add them for me, so that I can be a normal human being.

No, adding those things is so exhausting. I'd rather just be an abnormal human.

You're beyond saving.

Thank you for the compliment.
