Chapter 38(1 / 1)

Wind maintained a polite smile.

Colonello toyed with his gun. "Hey, Reborn, can I shoot that noisy brat dead?"

Reborn: "As you wish."

Squalo had one foot propped up on his chair as he roared at Gokudera Hayato, "Hey, bomb boy, can you keep it down? You're too noisy! My ears are killing me!"

Gokudera Hayato snapped back, "You think your voice is quiet? Shut up and stop interrupting me from watching the Tenth Generation's heroic posture!"

This kid is sick!

Gojo Satoru kept saying, "Wow! This world is so interesting. I wonder how many Cursed Spirits would appear if they merged; just thinking about it makes me excited."

Fushiguro Megumi said with a straight face, "No, it's better if you don't."

Nanami Kento replied quite naturally, "When the time comes, Gojo-san, you won't even have three hours of sleep; you'll be working for twenty-four hours straight."

Gojo Satoru's eyes widened instantly: "Don't do that!"

But I've thought of a great idea. Nanami, what do you think would happen if I threw those old oranges into this World 73? Would they be killed by someone for no reason? They're so obnoxious, anyway.

Nanami Kento: "Good idea."

To be honest, Sawada Tsunayoshi's schedule for today had been quite unlucky. Mori Ran felt quite embarrassed watching this, she pinched Mori Kogoro's arm: "Dad, you should be more serious about solving cases; how can you just accuse people so lightly?"

Mori Kogoro twisted his face, baring his teeth. "Ow, ow, ow! It's perfectly normal for me to think that!"

Edogawa Conan's face was flat: Heh, talking nonsense again.

Belphegor nodded with great satisfaction: "It seems my poisonous cooking has done a great job. Once Tsunayoshi returns, he can move on to the next stage of training. Hehe, I'll add a little more dosage."

Achoo.

Sawada Tsunayoshi hugged his arms and sneezed as the night wind blew against him.

The outside world is truly a place of trouble; he shouldn't go out tomorrow after all.

There were still five days before he had to report to the police academy. Since there were no missions during these few days, he could spend his time as he pleased.

Sawada Tsunayoshi planned to familiarize himself with this world to see if there were any differences from his own.

Then, a five-day period of drama began.

On the first day, he was staying perfectly fine in his own apartment when a corpse fell onto his balcony. Heaven knows how devastated he was, as he happened to be eating by the window next to the balcony at that exact moment when the bloody, mangled corpse came crashing down.

Then he was once again treated as a suspect—the familiar Inspector Megure, the familiar Mori Kogoro, the familiar killer was you.

This time, the culprits were a married couple living on the top floor; because the wife had been unfaithful, the husband devised a complex method to create an alibi and kill her.

The next day, Sawada Tsunayoshi wanted to take a stroll around the shopping mall to eat something delicious to comfort his soul, which had been wounded by three consecutive cases.

Then a fire broke out in the shopping mall. He happened to be right next to a fire extinguisher at the time; he grabbed it, rushed inside, successfully brought a mother and son out.

The result was that the fire was set by the mother's husband. Because he was a gold digger who married a wealthy and beautiful wife for her money, but discovered after marriage that the family wealth was to be passed directly to his son, bypassing him as the father, his plans to fleece them were shattered. In a fit of desperation, he decided to burn the mother and son to death.

The third day was a rainy day, Sawada Tsunayoshi fell into an inexplicable anxiety. He always felt as though there was some mysterious force in this world causing him to be constantly plagued by bad luck, so he went to a famous temple to pray for protection.

He was once again caught up in the conflict.

A group of people had robbed a wealthy man over a decade ago, hiding gold, silver, treasures, antiques inside a Buddha statue. Back then, the group was split up, but now they have all independently found this temple, taking control of the monks to move the treasure out.

Sawada Tsunayoshi arrived at just the right time; the robbers were planning to kill all the monks to destroy the evidence before flying abroad to live a life of leisure, but Sawada Tsunayoshi had arrived.

He used everything he had ever learned to take down five criminals without using any flames, successfully called the police.

This time, Inspector Megure and Mori Kogoro cast unusual looks at him.

On the fourth day, Sawada Tsunayoshi moved to a new house. Since he had plenty of money in his card, he needed to change his residence; he was going to go crazy if he continued living in his original apartment.

This time, he moved into a high-end residential community, a detached house. The rent was expensive, but the advantage was the excellent security and high level of privacy.

On the day he moved in, Sawada Tsunayoshi looked at the surrounding layout. It was very good; he was far from the neighbors, so even if he were to dump a body, he wouldn't be able to throw it over to them.

Alright, he could settle in with peace of mind. He had already bought enough instant food to last two days and planned to spend those two days inside the house.

However, man proposes but God disposes. Three hours later, Sawada Tsunayoshi sat in the police station looking dejected and lifeless, blankly sipping the hot cocoa a police officer had brought him, while the young lady looked at him with a face full of heartache.

Inspector Megure and Mori Kogoro both coughed twice, the two of them muttered something to each other.

Finally, Inspector Megure walked over with a conflicted expression on his face. "Um, Sawada Tsunayoshi, are you also doing detective work?"

Huh?

Sawada Tsunayoshi replied slowly, "I haven't, I still have to go to school in a couple of days."

Inspector Megure whispered, "Then that's strange."

Sawada Tsunayoshi wanted to ask something more, but Inspector Megure immediately changed the subject: "Ahem, it's nothing. I just wanted to say that it's a good thing you detected the traces of the bombs in advance and found all the bombs, preventing a massive loss. I have requested the higher-ups to grant you the title of Outstanding Citizen, as well as a reward for your brave actions."

Tsunayoshi, don't dwell on what happened these past few days. Life always has its bad luck—no, rather, it always has wonderful adventures. Just think of this as saving the world, forget about it in a few days, get back to your studies.

He's trying to comfort him, he must be.

But why would a criminal like him need a title like "Outstanding Citizen," or some award for bravery?

Reborn would laugh at him.

Varia would also make fun of him.

The night before school started, Sawada Tsunayoshi was called back into the Black Organization. Unlike secret organizations in the conventional sense, this place was very bright and highly high-tech.

Outside was an inconspicuous little convenience store, but beneath it lay a massive, high-tech silver building, vast and imposing. Those passing to and fro were all cold-blooded killers and doctors.

They were all exceptional individuals, looking down on the world with disdain and possessing incredibly agile movements, cold and ruthless—all of which was merely Sawada Tsunayoshi's imagination.

At this moment, he sat in his chair, feeling as uneasy as an elementary school student waiting for a teacher's scolding after having done something wrong.

Why? Because of the news currently playing on the television.

A half-body portrait hung beside the host; the person had brown hair, large eyes, was dressed in casual clothes, wore an embarrassed smile, appearing as if they were not very good at receiving compliments.

Very familiar, right?

If that person above wasn't Sawada Tsunayoshi, if the Sawada Tsunayoshi above wasn't someone praised by the mainstream media, if Sawada Tsunayoshi hadn't received the "Tokyo Outstanding Citizen Representative" title or the reward for bravery, it would have been fine.

The man standing before him, wearing a hat as black as his expression, stood there like he was about to devour a child, baring his white teeth.

“Xishijia Ya, explain.”

Explain what? Explain how he spent these cruel five days, explain how he used his identity in the Black Organization to seize his status as an outstanding citizen.

Sawada Tsunayoshi gave a forced laugh and shouted the words he had heard the big man say on the road: "Big Brother, listen to my explanation."

Vodka's eyes suddenly widened as he stared at this newcomer.

"Big Brother" is a title only you can use; it's my exclusive way of addressing him.

But he couldn't speak, because the atmosphere was currently quite tense.

Sawada Tsunayoshi was on the verge of tears. The only reason he was here on the night before school started was because something had gone wrong on the fifth day.

On the fifth day, because of the incident with those eight bastards the previous day, he was called by the police to provide the rest of his statement. On his way back, he was forced to take refuge in a bank due to a car accident.

Then the bank was hijacked. The kidnappers took over more than a hundred ordinary people who were there to conduct business and shouted at the police, demanding 10 billion, or else they would kill everyone inside.

He had resolved the situation here alongside a cool guy; a handsome, cold-looking man with striking features had discovered the lurking accomplices, while Sawada Tsunayoshi had subdued the visible kidnappers.

In the blink of an eye, the cool guy was gone, leaving him alone to face the late-arriving police and Mori Kogoro.

Wait, why are you here, Mori Kogoro? Can detectives participate in this kind of business too?

This time, Inspector Megure slapped Sawada Tsunayoshi's shoulder vigorously, shouting that he was the future super detective and praising him for having great potential.

Sawada Tsunayoshi had no idea how he had discovered his potential; he was barely managing to take care of himself.

Who could tell him why the photo of him giving his statement was being displayed on the big screen, or why he had suddenly become someone like one of the ten most moving figures in Tokyo?

He was actually deeply trusted by the police, even Mori Kogoro had changed his opinion of him, laughing loudly and telling him to go work on his muscles.

At night, Sawada Tsunayoshi received a cold phone call, with Gin on the other end.

Having finished his reminiscence, he looked at the extremely ferocious face in front of him and managed a smile. "Isn't this actually quite good? It'll be more beneficial for my undercover work."

He looked like he wanted to blow him up.

Shut up, say something!

Thank God.

Gin Big Brother merely stared at him intensely for a long time with his majestic gaze, his chilling eyes even more terrifying than a starving wolf's.

He bared his sinister teeth. "You had better be planning to go undercover. If I find out you're a rat, watch your tail."

Gin said that he should keep it up; since he had laid a solid foundation by chance, having a respectable social identity would be even more helpful for his future entry into the police academy.

He brought the Boss's words, saying that he should perform well once he entered, strive for an early promotion, contact the Organization if necessary, as they could send cannon fodder to help him boost his performance.

After the others left, Tsunayoshi whispered, "Rat, I'm not a rat."

Could the Organization already be capable of cultivating rat-men?

Just kidding, he certainly wouldn't be so naive as to think the rats were literal rats.

How should I put this? The promised lighthearted and pleasant isekai journey seems to have become something quite extraordinary.

Sawada Tsunayoshi went back to sleep to prepare for the next day's registration.

Fortunately, no accidents occurred during the night, allowing him to arrive safely at the gates of the police academy.

So many people! Reborn would never believe that I actually have the chance to attend the police academy. Haha, if I were in this World 73, I'd go catch him and claim the bounty.

Sawada Tsunayoshi was daydreaming innocently.

It's a good thing he can't hear me saying this, otherwise I'd be dead.

Who doesn't have the thought of rebelling against their teacher? After all, Dino and Sawada Tsunayoshi have always had that thought, their senior and junior fellow disciples occasionally hide away to think about how to make the evil Great Demon King Reborn suffer a loss, but in the end, the two unintelligent ones thought it over and decided to just let it be.

Yeah, they didn't want to die young.

Dino listened in horror to his junior's wild nonsense, covering his mouth as he looked helplessly in Reborn's direction.

My God, he laughed, it was that same smile that appeared most adorable to outsiders, like a precious little infant.
