Chapter 7(1 / 1)

Human experimentation is the first rule.

And then they actually dared to covet his prey; the Vongola Tenth Generation's body belonged to him, no one else could ever hope to take it away.

Reborn observed Rokudo Mukuro's expressions with great interest: "Interesting, it seems rumors can sometimes be unreliable."

Foolish thing, haven't you realized it yet?

Oh, are you saying you can kill Vongola?

The old man chuckled, "Of course, by using my brilliant mind."

Rokudo Mukuro raised his foot, his heavy black boot struck the floor, producing a crisp, loud sound that echoed through the empty room.

The Snake Woman's pupils trembled as she saw red-purple flowers blooming beneath her feet, the bodies of the people lying around her became shriveled. Her voice trembled: "Quick, quick, Kirigaya is serious, run, quickly!"

The old man reached out his hand, making a beckoning gesture: "Come, join us, I will give you—"

A thorny vine pierced through the place where his heart should be, the tearing pain searing him, leaving nothing but a tragic scream that he could not let out, because the venomous snake had coiled around his neck, making it impossible for him to cry out.

The man was the same; his heart was pierced, he thought he would die immediately, but in the next second, he clearly felt his heart beginning to regrow.

Terrifying, terrifying, why isn't he dead yet!

Brandy was even more terrifying than before. Why? Weren't they chatting just fine? Why did things suddenly become like this?

From Byakuran's perspective, one could see a large hole torn in the old man's chest, where plant thorns were wildly churning around the heart, tearing it open one second and then restoring it to its original state the next.

Several venomous snakes greedily surrounded the heart, their pupils turning red as they were stimulated by the scent of blood.

They seemed to have received some sort of command, crawling through the large hole and opening their mouths.

“AAAAAAHHHHHH!!” Unable to hold it in any longer, Brandy and the old man let out a violent scream together.

Wh-why, don't you hate, Vongola, why, ahhhhhhh!!

It was likely because the pain was too intense and the desire to know the answer was too great; Brandy was actually able to utter a complete sentence in the middle of his screams. He really wanted to know the answer.

The source was definitely clean; it was something the elders of the organization had fought desperately to bring back.

“Kufufufu, I hate people who think they're so clever most of all, as luck would have it, you two are exactly that.”

Rokudo Mukuro's voice remained low and magnetic, possessing a charm like an abyss demon; his expression did not change, appearing as if he were smiling yet not, but within those eyes lay the cold indifference of a devil.

The Ninth Generation laughed heartily, "He's angry."

Reborn glanced at him. "If the boss is being insulted like this and still hasn't made a move, it shows that this Rain Guardian is not qualified."

So, old friend, do you think he is qualified?

Keep watching.

"Vongola is my prey; are you coveting my things?

Only I can plunder the Vongola's body. Are you all provoking me?

Rokudo Mukuro stepped forward one pace at a time. The last thing Brandy saw were those eerie, swirling pupils; he felt as if a snake were crawling into his eyes to devour his organs, until he himself was reduced to a stark white skeleton.

However, in the next second, he seemed to feel life again. At the edge of infinity, he saw an eye with the number "six" within it.

Enter the endless cycle and enjoy yourself to your heart's content.

At some unknown point, a strange, bloody flower bloomed from the chests of the two people on the ground, swaying gracefully and exuding a sense of fulfillment, as Rokudo Mukuro walked past, it nuzzled his boots like a small animal.

In the next moment, the flowers turned into thick mist.

In the next second, the high-tech building was entwined and tightened by vines, before finally collapsing into a pile of rubble.

No one knew what had happened here; those who came later could only see bones scattered across the ground.

The Snake Woman looked at the collapsed building with lingering fear, panting heavily, "We.. we survived."

Cat Man lay on the ground, panting heavily, "Kirigaya is truly unrestrained. Either he doesn't care about us being inside, or he has confidence in our strength and knows we can survive."

The Snake Woman's eyes were filled with pity, as if looking at an idiot. "Friend, take my advice: this is your first time coming out on a mission with Kirigaya, isn't it?"

Listen to me, Tenth Generation's Guardians—aside from the Rain Guardian, they are almost all lone wolves. I don't know if the enemies are dangerous, but you absolutely shouldn't harbor any illusions about the Guardians; they will definitely not take us into account.

Cat Man shuddered, "Alright, I get it."

But as expected, as soon as Kirigaya heard someone was insulting the Tenth Generation, he exploded. He's completely different from the rumors. That's probably what they call being a tsundere, haha.

Cat Man was startled by the Snake Woman's face leaning in close, he hugged himself. "Senior, I sell my performance, not my body."

The Snake Woman gave her a look of disdain. "Get lost, that's not what I'm talking about."

She drew closer to Cat Man, her eyes shining brightly. "You brat, you've actually been able to see through Kirigaya's personality so quickly; you have a bright future ahead of you, kid. It looks like you're qualified to join our great family of Guardians. Come on, young man, join us, let's protect the best together!"

The image froze.

What the hell!

Rokudo Mukuro felt like crushing the armrest of his seat; he could also understand what the two were talking about. "Stupid Port Mafia!"

To dare to link him and Vongola together—how foolish, how incredibly arrogant.

I need to find an opportunity to kill everyone!

I'm going to kill everyone here!

Everyone relaxed, enjoying the harmonious atmosphere, but Mammon simply found Rokudo Mukuro an eyesore and kept provoking him from the side, mimicking his strange way of speaking: "Whoa, Vongola is my prey, haha, the prey of ten years hasn't been successfully hunted yet; just who is the prey and who is the hunter?"

Rokudo Mukuro grinned sinisterly, "Shut up, Rainbow. I don't need to explain anything to a defeated opponent like you. Are you unhappy that I will be the one to become the Tenth Generation's Rain Guardian?"

At this moment, Mammon didn't break down, but someone else did.

Oh, so you admit you are the Tenth Generation's Guardian? You weren't denying it just a moment ago, haha, Light Brother.

Shut up, you locked-up Loser.

So what, Cold Face Brother?

Don't try to test my patience.

Mm-hmm, I get it, you useless Freebie Brother who's achieved nothing in ten years.

As expected, the two of them started fighting. Even though they knew no real damage could be caused here, they still fought fiercely, trading provocations one after another.

Cat Man and Chikusa stood to the side, shouting encouragements to Rokudo Mukuro, while Lusuria twisted her body to cheer for Mammon, Bell threw small knives at them indiscriminately, regardless of friend or foe.

The Ninth Generation's Rain Guardian watched them with a smile, saying, "Young people certainly have a lot of vitality."

The Rain Guardian said, "The bonds of the Tenth Generation are no shallower than ours, they have even more variety than we did back in our day."

Rain Guardian: "Back in our day, we simply followed the person we had chosen; there was no such dramatic development as this."

Finally, the Ninth Generation settled the matter: "Haha, this is the romance unique to the youth, I suppose."

Stop adding fuel to the fire!" Tsuna screamed silently. "Ninth Generation, you're out of character!

He didn't quite understand the meaning of 6927.

Oh my, a small-town boy like him doesn't understand what city folk are talking about.

The World Consciousness suddenly spoke: 【The first video is nearing its end. Now, there is a gift to be given to the Tenth Generation's Rain Guardian, which marks the beginning of your bond with the Tenth Generation.】

A scene resembling a game CG card appeared on the large screen, remaining there motionless for everyone to see.

Against the black background, there were only two people. Rokudo Mukuro was injured and bleeding; one of his eyes was drenched in blood as he lay on the ground, his body covered in dense, overlapping wounds. He stubbornly kept one eye open, refusing to close it.

Half of his body was hidden in the darkness, while the other half was bathed in light.

And the light came from the boy standing opposite him.

With brown, spiky hair, his thin body was also covered in countless wounds; it was impossible to tell who had more injuries, clearly indicating that the two had been through a fierce battle.

Flames erupted from the boy's hands and the top of his head, clear and pure, symbolizing his endless resolve. His pupils took on an inorganic, bright orange hue, yet it was not heartless; if one looked closely, one could see the complex emotions within.

Pain, anger, pity, sadness—all sorts of emotions converged in his gaze.

His fists were clenched tight, yet his youthful face was written with strength.

Rokudo Mukuro understood in an instant what this scene was; it was the moment he had lost to Vongola, the moment he had trembled as he spoke the word Light, it was him—

Despite never having met, the flames do not lie, the gaze does not lie, the palpitations of the soul do not lie.

Those eyes, that radiance

Who is he.

It was not a hollow title like Vongola Tenth Generation, but a true name, a name that existed independently from the moment of birth, his most essential, most objective, most..

“Eh? Isn't this my Tsuna? Why is he up there?”

Author's Note:

Just a heads-up, this story isn't particularly friendly toward Taika Mitsu and Taiana Nana. Actually, I started by watching the anime and thought Taiana Nana was just a natural, loving mother, but later I caught up on the manga, my worldview was shattered.

Isn't this just a couple obsessed with love, with the child being an accidental reality?

Especially that part where Kyoko's clothes burst, it made me so angry. How could she say such things to her own child?

Anyway, there isn't much description of the two of them in this text, their attitude is just so-so.

Chapter 8: Eighth Day of the Live Stream

The speaker was a middle-aged woman with short hair and a pure expression, looking as though she had been very well protected. Standing beside her was a blonde man; the two were leaning into each other, clearly a married couple.

At this moment, the wife said with a face full of confusion, "Honey, look, that leader up there looks exactly like our Tsuna. It's just that Tsuna is too introverted and often keeps his head down; he doesn't have the same expression as that child up there."

Taika Mitsu blocked those gazes and laughed, "Darling, you must have seen wrong. Tsuna is so timid, how could he possibly be a Port Mafia leader? The world is vast and full of wonders; it's just a coincidence, a mere coincidence."

Are you serious?

Reborn looked at them with a probing gaze; they could actually come up with such a clumsy excuse.

Ah, so that's how it is. I knew Tsuna couldn't be one of the children from above. Oh dear, when will Tsuna finally pull himself together? Make some good friends and stop making me worry.

Taika Mitsu: "It's fine. Once we get back, I'll give him a proper lesson and make sure he grows into a real man."

Taiana Nana looked at him with admiration: "You're so amazing, darling."

Reborn withdrew his gaze and met his old friend's worried look, shaking his head slightly.

Whether it's being natural or being indifferent, these are all unavoidable influences from the other party's family.
